Diamond Plate Horses is extremely proud to offer this exceptional gelding. Waco is a true bay roan, 4-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding standing at 15.1 hands that checks all of the boxes. I have owned Waco for two years where he has been slowly and correctly started and finished while excelling through all aspects of my program. Waco is an exceptionally smart gelding who I knew was special from the beginning. He has the perfect “puppy dog” attitude and loves to work. He is so full of love and personality and everyone that meets him falls in love.
Waco is a solid and seasoned trail and dog horse. This gelding loves to be in the woods and has seen miles and miles of trails alone as well as in groups. He has also been in a parade and handled it beautifully. Waco turns heads wherever he is with his beautiful headset, smooth gait, and slow lope that you will have no problem riding all day. He has been ridden by all levels of riders and no matter the rider, Waco will hold true in his gait and pick up a lope effortlessly. Waco has all of the buttons, making him soft in the mouth and easy to ride. He has lots of feel and can be moved with the touch of a pinky. He flexes to both sides, responds to leg pressure, and picks up his shoulders nicely. Waco has an easy neck rein and will stop on a dime. Sit back in your seat, gently flag your legs and he will back. He knows each of his leads and will side pass both directions. Waco has been ridden bareback and bridle-less and does it all just the same. He has had extensive groundwork and lunges around you softly, changing directions with ease.
Take him to a parade and carry a flag, head to the trails, or take him fishing, Waco’s got you. Spending lots of time in the woods, Waco is sure footed and will go any direction you point him. He will cross any log, ditch or obstacle and loves water. He has been exposed to all types of wildlife in the piney woods of South Georgia and watches where he is going. He will lead any group he is in or turn and leave the group with no hesitation or argument. His happy place is behind a bird dog. Waco has been used since he was three years old working bird dogs. He will keep his eyes and ears on the dog and keep up. He ground ties at a point, does not miss a beat with a gun shot and has even been used roading dogs. Waco would make an exceptional field trial horse where you could handle off of him and then join right back into the gallery.
Along with his list of talents in the saddle, Waco is just as nice on the ground. No matter what sized field, Waco will come running when you call his name and is happy to see you every time. No halter is needed, he will follow you around wherever you go. He will stand quiet to be groomed, bathed, and saddled and is exceptional to clip. He will drop his head and take the bride with ease and stands quiet for mounting. He picks up his feet for the farrier and does not cause a fuss. Waco is also hobble broke and will stand quietly wherever he is placed. Waco loads in the trailer easily and gets along with other horses.
Waco is truly a once in a lifetime horse that has a lot to offer someone. This gelding is hard to let go of and will only be available to an approved home. For more information or to come see him, call Breanna Ryan: 229-421-1630
